OUR PEOPLE
Tony Oteng-Gyasi, Educated at the University of Ghana and the Ghana Law School in Economics and Law, Tony Oteng-Gyasi was born on 15th February, 1955. After spending nine years working with British Petroleum (BP) in Ghana in various executive marketing positions, he resigned in 1986 to set up his first company, a successful trading company, Tropical Products Ltd.
In 1997, he expanded into the cable manufacturing by incorporating, Tropical Cable and Conductor Ltd, with the active assistance of Empretec Ghana. Married, with five children, he is a keen squash player and is interested in building a company, which will survive him.

An experienced Chartered Accountant, Mr. Mensah also holds an MBA degree in Project Management from the University of Ghana Business School, Legon.
Theo trained with Pannel Kerr Forster and worked with Delloitte, both firms of Chartered Accountants.
He left his appointment as Audit Manager to work for Meridian Tobacco (the then local subsidiary of Rothmans International) as Chief Accountant. After seven years, he joined Tropical Cable and Conductor Ltd, at the inception of the company, bringing his vast experience in finance and accounts. He also worked on various projects financial consultancies for the World Bank and African Development Bank.
Currently, Mr. Mensah is the President of the Institute of Directors.
His wife and three daughters encouraged him to leave Rothmans for a company whose products come without a “health warning”.
Theophilus Menash
Finance & Administration Director
Mr. Zbigniew (Tom) Bonikowski holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from London University. He is a fellow of the Institution of Electrical Engineers and a member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
He spent 36 years in the Cable Industry working for BICC Cables Ltd. He held positions from Graduate Apprentice through Chief Engineer and retired as Technology Manager.
Tom was sourced by EMPRETEC Ghana under their British Executive Service Overseas scheme and has become a much – valued member of the TCCL team. He has fallen in love with Ghanaian food and appreciates the warm hospitality of the people. In early 2000, Tom accepted a position on the board of the company.
Zbigniew Bonikowski
Cable Technology Director
Irina Odame graduated in 1987 with M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Byelorussian National Technical University (former Byelorussian Polytechnic Institute in Minsk), former USSR.
Prior to joining the Company, she had 10 years working experience with the Ministry of Mines and Energy. Within that period, she rose from an Associate Programme Officer to a Senior Programme Officer and was the Project Engineer for the National LPG Programme. She was later appointed as Research and Development Manager for Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Company.
She joined Tropical Cable and Conductor Limited (TCCL) in the year 2000 as Quality Executive and is responsible, among other duties, for the Company’s Quality Management System. She is a certified ISO Lead Auditor and is in charge of the overall performance, maintenance and improvement of the established ISO 9001: 2008 quality management system.
Irina seeks to use her engineering expertise to ensure excellent and safe products for the protection of the environment.
Married, with two children, Irina enjoys playing the piano.
David is a graduate from the University of Ghana Business School. He joined the management team of TCCL in the year 1999.
He has developed and implemented effective human resource strategies, which has resulted in improvement of HR Management and general organizational effectiveness.
He has an additional responsibility in supply chain management. David is a trained ISO Auditor (ISO 9001: 2008 quality management system) and participates in the system’s Internal Quality Auditing.
He is married, with two children and has interest in soccer and boxing.

Michael obtained Bsc (Chemical Engineering) from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi. He joined TCCL in 2001 after his national service at Water Research Institute (CSIR).
Having worked under two Production Managers whose combined total experience exceed sixty years in the industry, Michael has taken up the challenge of running production. A key member of the team which saw the company achieve ISO 9001:2000 certification, Michael welcomes new challenges.
Michael is a trained ISO Auditor (ISO 9001: 2008 quality management system) and participates in the system’s Internal Quality Auditing.
Michael is married and enjoys Gospel Music.
Michael Dugbartey
Production Manager
Wisdom Ahorney is the Finance Manager. He holds a degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Ghana, Legon.
He joined the TCCL team in 2004 after several years of experience with Pannell Kerr Forster, the International Firm of Chartered Accountants.
Wisdom is a trained ISO Auditor (ISO 9001: 2008 quality management system) and participates in the system’s Internal Quality Auditing.
Wisdom has three children and loves playing with them
