ABOUT US
A DECADE OF EXCELLENCE IN CABLE MANUFACTURING
From its beginnings in 1997 Tropical Cable and Conductor Ltd. has made impressive progress. We process over 2000 tonnes of aluminium and copper annually. This phenomenal growth in one decade has been achieved by manufacturing world class quality conductors and cables for West Africa’s energy sector.
Tropical Cable and Conductor’s remarkable growth is embellished by a number of firsts. On incorporation in 1997, we were the first wholly Ghanaian owned manufacturer in this technologically challenging area.
In 2003 our company was the first cable manufacturing company to be listed in the prestigious Ghana Club 100 (a listing of Ghana’s top 100 companies). We have continued to feature regularly on the list.

In 2004, our quest for excellence in cable manufacturing was further enhanced with the certification of our quality management system internationally acclaimed ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems Certification. Again, Tropical Cable and Conductor Ltd was the first cable manufacturer in Ghana (and possibly in West Africa) to achieve certification.
TCCL’s excellent technical and marketing expertise have seen Tropical Cable’s market share increase, steadily, in the highly competitive market. As a result of our superior understanding of our customers’ needs we strategically commissioned our new armouring line in 2006 for the manufacture of underground cables. We were the first manufacturer of armoured cables in Ghana. In 2007, our aluminium rod manufacturing subsidiary, Western Rod and Wire was set up. Today we have stopped the importation of aluminium rod.

In the last ten years, we have committed significant resources to the aid of the under privileged in our society. We have offered financial assistance to medical students to study abroad, donated electric cables to institutions such as the Ghana Police and various schools. The Ho Rehabilitation Centre regularly receives assistance from Tropical Cable and Conductor Ltd.
We maintain procurement systems that aim at supporting indigenous small scale businesses. There is no doubt that the past decade has been significantly eventful and remarkable for Tropical Cable and Conductor Ltd.
In the next decade we intend to increase our efforts and consolidate our vision of becoming an African Industrial Giant and the number one manufacturer of cables and conductors in West Africa.
